Icon of Our Lady of Borusiv

The Icon of Our Lady of Borusiv. Perhaps the most beautiful icon in our church! It would be worth the trip to our church just to see this one icon. See the tenderness between the Virgin Mary and her Son Jesus. There is a series of icons on the perimeter of the icon depicting the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. One can pray before this icon to Our Lady of Borusiv for the conversion of women who have rejected Christianity because of some radical feminist ideas.

Just below that icon there is a picture of the original, miraculous Icon of our Lady found in the town of Borusiv, Ukraine. There is a very long and interesting story about the Miraculous Icon of Borusiv in Ukraine, with miracles recorded at the time of the Kyivan Rus Empire, during the Kozak Rulership of Bohdan Khmelnycky and in more recent times. Fr. Mykola Komar, the former pastor of our church, has had a great devotion to this icon and has actually been in Borusiv and done extensive research about the icon. A separate booklet may be published about the history of the original Miraculous Icon of Our Lady of Borusiv.
